The UGC recently issued a notice to the chancellors and vice-chancellors of institutions that have been awarded the status of “Deemed University”.  This notice comes in light of the order and observation of the supreme court that such institutions have been misusing the status to mimic and give the impression that they are a “university”. In its guidance to these institutions, the UGC has now asked the institutions to use the term “Deemed to be University” instead. Here is the list of universities that have been awarded the “Deemed to be university” or Deemed University status. Unlawful universities awarding degrees or getting awarded fake degrees can ultimately be the most damaging to your career in the long run.
